Poland Convention Bureau was created in 2002 as a department of Polish Tourism Organisation and is responsible for the promotion of Poland as an attractive destination for meetings and business events.
We are the first contact for anyone seeking information on business partners and conference facilities, who is planning to organize association congress or a corporate event in Poland.
Our main goal is to build the image of Poland as an attractive country for organising of all types of business events. We realize our mission through:
participating in international business fairs, which results in gaining new business contacts;
organising study tours for foreign journalists and organizers of meetings and business events, including conferences, congresses, product launches, incentives;
gaining new business events for Poland;
cooperating with foreign media and posting articles and advertisements promoting Poland as a business destination in business press and directories;
cooperating with city convention bureaux;
networking with Polish business sector within Recommendation Program for Professional Congress Organizers, Recommendation Program for Incentive Travel Companies;
networking with the Polish scientific community within Polish Congress Ambassadors Program;
cooperating with international organisations and associations of meeting industry professionals;
collection and elaboration of statistical data on Polish meeting industry, in accordance with the recommendations of international organisations such as ICCA - International Congress and Convention Association and the UIA - Union of International Associations, engaged in similar rankings.
The Polish Tourism Organization is a member of the meetings industry associations: International Congress and Convention Association and Union of International Associations.
A familiarisation trip for 12 representatives of the UK meetings industry was held in Warsaw on 7-9 April. Arranged by Hilton Worldwide, Poland Concept DMC, Warsaw Convention Bureau and Poland Convention Bureau Polish Tourist Organisation, the event was devised to introduce the guests to the capital’s offer and business potential.
The Poland Meetings Impact 2015 study showcased the economic contribution of the meetings industry. The organization of meetings and events in 2015 generated 1% of GDP and an economic input at the level of 26 billion PLN.
The goal of the study implemented as part of the Wpływ ekonomiczny przemysłu spotkań na gospodarkę Polski – Poland Meetings Impact 2015 (The Economic Impact of Poland’s Meetings Industry - Poland Meetings Impact 2015) project was to define the economic significance of the meetings and events held in Poland and demonstrate their economic contribution.
In the third quarter of 2019 at the Ławica airport will be opened Moxy hotel (120 rooms). It will be managed by Chopin Airport Development. This is the fifth hotel that belongs to the Marriott International brand and the seventh project in the ChAd portfolio.
The second edition of 4 Design Days at the International Congress Centre in Katowice attracted even greater interest than last year.
It was attended by nearly 25 thousand guests - 5 thousand from them were hosted buyers; two days for professionals and 20 thousand visitors on the weekend 18 and 19 February.
Over 3000 European and international psychiatrists and experts will visit the capital of Poland for 4 days in April 2019, in order to exchange their knowledge and discuss the issues of mental healthcare. The EPA Congress is organised annually in different European cities and every year a number of destinations apply to host this event. In 2016, EPA took place in Madrid, Spain and the next edition will be held in Florence, Italy. Poland will be hosting this congress for the first time, in EXPO XXI Warsaw.

As each year, the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourist Organization organizes the national stand for the international IBTM World exhibition in Barcelona (D70) to be held on 29 November 2016 – 1st December 2016.
On 18 – 20 October this year, the sixth edition of IMEX America was held. At the national stand over 50 meetings were held with people interested in Poland as a venue of conferences, congresses or incentive travels.
World Music Expo (WOMEX), one of the most prestigious European music events, will be held in Katowice in October 2017. WOMEX is among premier music industry events, next to MIDEM in Cannes and Jazz Ahead in Bremen. Each year it brings together thousands of world music fans from all over the world and hundreds of musicians and representatives of music creative industries. Each time staged in a different European city, WOMEX features concerts, a conference and a trade fair aimed at specialists, but also available for music lovers. Katowice is the first Polish city to host the discussed event.
On 16 September 2016 Lubelskie Centrum Konferencyjne (Lublin Conference Centre) will host “Get a taste of Lublin conference” event series inaugurating the opening of a new congress-conference centre in eastern Poland, in the very heart of Lublin. The events in question are targeted at meeting organisers, the MICE industry, media professionals, voivodeship and city authorities, as well as representatives of institutions of higher education.

The ICE Kraków Congress Centre has received nearly a million PLN from European funds for the promotion of the Małopolska meeting industry. The Krakow Festival Office, the operator of the venue, will allocate the funds, among others, for participation in international industry trade shows, studio visits for foreign MICE industry representatives, the development of Krakow Network – a local cooperation network, and activities to promote the economic offer of the region as well as the Congress Centre.
On the 9-11 May, 2018 at the International Exhibition and Convention Centre EXPO Krakow will be held the 28th European Wound Management Association Conference EWMA 2018. Almost 10 thousand wound care specialist will be debated on the most important research results and scientific discoveries in medicine. The event will be accompanied by the exhibition of the medical equipment and wound care products suppliers and producers.

Thanks to the efforts of EXPO XXI Warsaw, supported by Warsaw Convention Bureau, the Polish capital has been short-listed for hosting the largest congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) in 2019. Select destinations and offers will be presented and results announced at this year’s Dubai–set ISBT event on 3 September 2016.
On 7 July 2016 Hotel Art Wroclaw held a meeting of representatives of meeting industry. The event was organized by Convention Bureau - Wrocław. During the meeting guests had the possibility to get acquainted with issues related to the current situation, and the future of the meetings industry in Wrocław as well as its new tourist attractions and important events taking place in Wroclaw.
