Poland Convention Bureau was created in 2002 as a department of Polish Tourism Organisation and is responsible for the promotion of Poland as an attractive destination for meetings and business events.
We are the first contact for anyone seeking information on business partners and conference facilities, who is planning to organize association congress or a corporate event in Poland.
Our main goal is to build the image of Poland as an attractive country for organising of all types of business events. We realize our mission through:
participating in international business fairs, which results in gaining new business contacts;
organising study tours for foreign journalists and organizers of meetings and business events, including conferences, congresses, product launches, incentives;
gaining new business events for Poland;
cooperating with foreign media and posting articles and advertisements promoting Poland as a business destination in business press and directories;
cooperating with city convention bureaux;
networking with Polish business sector within Recommendation Program for Professional Congress Organizers, Recommendation Program for Incentive Travel Companies;
networking with the Polish scientific community within Polish Congress Ambassadors Program;
cooperating with international organisations and associations of meeting industry professionals;
collection and elaboration of statistical data on Polish meeting industry, in accordance with the recommendations of international organisations such as ICCA - International Congress and Convention Association and the UIA - Union of International Associations, engaged in similar rankings.
The Polish Tourism Organization is a member of the meetings industry associations: International Congress and Convention Association and Union of International Associations.
The new Nobu lifestyle hotel is being developed in Warsaw in place of the former Rialto hotel. The global brand was created by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and film producer Meir Teper. The hotel will welcome its first guests already in June.
Two extensive articles on Poland as a business destination will be published in leading trade magazines: Spanish Punto MICE and French MeeT and TRaVeL MaG. In the former case, the publication will follow an earlier webinar dedicated to Poland.
Intended to showcase the potential of Warsaw and Kraków as business tourism destinations, a fam trip for a 15-strong group of planners representing American Express Global Business Travel’s Barcelona and Madrid offices was staged on 14-17 February 2020.
The second edition of Meetings & Incentives Healthcare Europe was staged in Finlandia Hall in Helsinki on 11-13 February 2020. Polish representatives attended for the first time, both exhibitors and invited hosted buyers.
EventSummit, the largest event in the Dutch market to be dedicated to the event industry, was staged in Rotterdam (Netherlands) on 30 January 2020 and featured both a business section and seminars.
The most important event of the meetings industry – Meetings Week Poland – will be staged in the Palace of Culture and Science congress centre in Warsaw on 22-24 April 2020. Three busy days of conferences, debates and meetings will be filled with presentations on safety and security in the meetings sector, the code of good practice, and sustainable business models in the discussed area.
2nd International Conference “Historical cities in search of a premium tourist” is planned on 11-12 of March 2020 at ICE Kraków Congress Centre as a part of the Historical Cities 3.0 project, whose main goal is to discuss problems, experiences, solutions used in historical cities, exclusively in the aspect of tourism development.
We can safely say that 2019 was focused on the theme of cooperation within the industry, both on a domestic and international scale. Each year Poland is becoming an increasingly attractive region for international meetings and business events. The growth of the meetings industry is among the promotional priorities of Polish Tourism Organisation, whose structures encompass the Poland Convention Bureau section.
LOT Polish Airlines join ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association), unites over 1,100 members in almost 100 countries around the world, including key carriers and airline alliances. LOT will be one of the two airlines representing the Central European region.
As is the case each year, certificates of Poland Convention Bureau of Polish Tourism Organisation were presented to professional congress and incentive travel organisers plus convention bureaux, thus confirming their reliability, good practices and top customer service standards.
A fam trip of 10 representatives of the meetings sector hailing from the German, Austrian and Swiss markets was staged on 29 November-1 December 2019 at the invitation of Travel Projekt DMC Poland, Radisson Blu Hotel Kraków and Poland Convention Bureau of Polish Tourism Organisation.
Representatives of Academy of International Business, considering Warsaw as the seat of their annual conference in 2021, took part in a fam trip on 21-22 November 2019.
As is the case each year, Polish Tourism Organisation arranged the Polish national stand (D80) at IBTM World. Staged in Barcelona on 19-21 November 2019, this is the leading event for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry. This year’s offer of Poland was complemented by a meeting applying the Happy Hours format, staged together by Poland Convention Bureau POT and Polish Airlines LOT.
The 58th ICCA Congress was staged in Houston on 27-30 October. Poland was represented by delegates of Polish Tourism Organisation - Poland Convention Bureau, Copernicus Science Centre, Grupa MTP, Lubelskie Convention Bureau, Łódź Convention Bureau, and Polish Airlines LOT.
Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala acknowledging the latest laureates of the programme and officially announcing new jury members for 2020-2023 was hosted by the city of Katowice. In addition, it marked the launch of the National Support Programme for the Meetings Industry to be implemented by Polish Tourism Organisation and Polish Airlines LOT.
ITB Asia, the primary trade show for Southeast Asia, was held on 16-18 October 2019. Mazurkas DMC Poland and Supertour DMC Poland showcased their business and tourist offer at the Polish national stand, for the second time arranged by Polish Tourism Organisation.
The Academy of Polish Conference and Congress Association project was launched on 14 October 2019, not coincidentally the National Education Day. Its programme of training sessions was developed by experienced experts, representatives of the meetings industry.
