American Express representatives in Poland
Intended to showcase the potential of Warsaw and Kraków as business tourism destinations, a fam trip for a 15-strong group of planners representing American Express Global Business Travel’s Barcelona and Madrid offices was staged on 14-17 February 2020.
The stay was arranged at the initiative of Vengo DMC Poland (specializing in handling groups representing the Italian and Spanish market) in cooperation with PLL LOT, Hilton Worldwide and the meetings sector of Warsaw and Kraków.
As requested by participants, the trip’s very busy schedule was launched in Kraków with Kraków Convention Bureau providing informative and financial support. A site inspection of Stara Zajezdnia Kraków by DeSilva was helpful in presenting the city as a great setting for meetings and events. Accompanied by a Spanish-speaking guide, the guests also visited the Kraków Market Square, Wawel Castle, Collegium Maius, the Oskar Schindler Factory, and the former Jewish district of Kazimierz. The participants stayed in the DoubleTree by Hilton Kraków Hotel & Convention Center and dined in Klezmer Hois and Szara Gęś restaurants, notable examples of the kind of establishments that earned Kraków the title of the European Capital of Gastronomic Culture.
Warsaw is frequently known as the global capital of pianism due to its affiliation with the Chopin Competition, whose 18th edition is coming soon in 2020. Meeting planners began their stay with a walk and a site inspection of the Palace on the Isle in the Royal Baths Park plus a short tour of the Belvedere restaurant. They followed it with a meeting and an inspection of Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Convention Centre, where they also stayed for the night. In the second part of the day, they toured the Old Town and a part of the Royal Route, while in the evening they enjoyed an atmospheric Chopin concert staged in Chopin Point Warsaw. A ceremonious dinner in the Strefa restaurant was the final item on the agenda.
Vengo DMC Poland is an incentive travel company recommended by Polish Tourism Organisation Poland Convention Bureau. The ceremonious dinner in Warsaw was hosted by Polish Tourism Organisation. As the visit’s arrangement was based on cooperation between partners, the project successfully demonstrated the strength of Polish meetings sector.
