Planners from Austria, Germany and Switzerland in Kraków
A fam trip of 10 representatives of the meetings sector hailing from the German, Austrian and Swiss markets was staged on 29 November-1 December 2019 at the invitation of Travel Projekt DMC Poland, Radisson Blu Hotel Kraków and Poland Convention Bureau of Polish Tourism Organisation.
The goal of the trip was to showcase the potential of Kraków as a business destination. For this purpose the organisers presented a diverse city offer: from site inspection of a selection of hotels and venues, through a tasting session of the region’s culinary highlights during a walk around the Old Town, a tour of a one-of-a-kind museum of stained glass, to an in introduction to street art in Podgórze and Kazimierz areas during a trabant ride. The participants were highly interested in the miners’ route and lunch in one of the event-centred chambers in “Wieliczka” Salt Mine. The guests also got to know the Kraków legends as told by the Dragon of Wawel Hill and tried their hand at making traditional pierogi at themed workshops. Their stay wrapped up with an evening walk around the Christmas fair and a tasting session of mulled wine, a wintertime favourite.
The planners from Austria, Germany and Switzerland were particularly impressed by the potential of Kraków, the standard represented by its hotel and gastronomic infrastructure, as well as the special ambience and professional approach shown in arranging the fam trip.
Travel Projekt DMC Poland is an incentive travel organiser recommended by Poland Convention Bureau of Polish Tourism Organisation. The ceremonious dinner was hosted by Polish Tourism Organisation.
