Kraków chosen as host city for 2025 Cities Forum
Kraków has been selected to host the sixth edition of the Cities Forum, which will take place in mid-2024. This is one of the most significant events dedicated to urban development in Europe.
From June 17 to 19 next year, the ICE Kraków Congress Centre will be the hub for discussions on the future of European cities. In the bid to host this prestigious event, Kraków triumphed over 13 other cities across Europe. The Cities Forum, held biennially, was last hosted by Turin in 2023.
This prominent event, organized by the European Urban Initiative (EUI) and overseen by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), serves as a crucial platform for discussing the urban dimension of EU Cohesion policy. Following a meticulous evaluation of applications and a vote by EU Member States during the Directors-General Meeting on Urban Matters, Kraków has been chosen to welcome urban stakeholders from across Europe for the 6th edition of the Cities Forum in 2025.
Over 800 delegates from various EU countries will gather in Kraków to discuss topics such as cohesion policy, sustainable development, and metropolitan policy. This event will also provide an excellent opportunity to exchange best practices in various areas of urban policy and to establish new partnerships and collaborations. For Kraków, it is a valuable chance for international promotion.
