Summary of the year
As part of the advertising campaign “Move Your Imagination” 4 Roadshow presentations were organised, to which we have invited more than 230 organisers of meetings and events. These events provided a great opportunity to present Poland and establish direct contacts with organisers. The study visits intended for both the priority markets covered by the campaign, and the global market were attended by 40 representatives of the meetings industry. In the first half of the year, adverts of 6 Polish cities appeared in trade magazines on priority markets, which were appreciated and awarded with the Best Print Advertising in the MIMA competition. The advertising campaign also involved publication of a newspaper supplement on the Polish meetings industry, Poland’s presentation by Kate and a dedicated website.
The PCB of the Polish Tourist Organisation also organised the Polish national stand during the major trade fairs IMEX in Frankfurt and EIBTM in Barcelona. This was a great opportunity to engage in promotional measures aimed at drawing the public’s attention to Poland and attracting people to the stand. Additionally, the debut of the Polish stand on the IMEX America fairs ended with a success.
In 2012 seventeen companies were involved in the Recommendation Programme for Professional Congress Organisers and organisers of incentive travels and they also took part in the events organised by the PCB of the Polish Tourist Organisation such as presentations, study visits and trade fairs.
The circle of the Polish Congress Ambassadors was joined by 13 big names from the world of science, sport and culture that are actively engaged in the promotion of Poland and redound to the organisation of conferences in Poland. This year, a formal Gala was held during the Poznań International Fair.
A Gala held in September in the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera summed up 10 years of the PCB of the Polish Tourist Organisation functioning. The PCB works over the 10-year period were showed in a form of a multimedia presentation. An important element of the Gala was the presentation of decorations “For merits to tourism” (Polish: Za zasługi dla turystyki) to persons making a considerable contribution to the popularisation and development of the meetings industry.
