Energy of Meetings - Fam Trip in Silesia
This time the invited meeting planners were presented with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the dynamically developing Polish region and visited attractions located in Katowice, Tychy, Zabrze, Tarnów Mountains, Orgodzieniec and Zawiercie.
On the first day, the attendees, while taking an interactive tour around one of the most renowned Polish breweries in Tychy, with an over four-hundred-years’ history, were familiarised with different technologies behind brewing. The visit involved the demonstration of the brewing process in the past and in present times. The facilities also hosted a presentation entitled “Polska. Move Your Imagination”, followed by a supper.
The second day started with meeting with Convention Bureau Katowice and visit to the Spodek Arena, famous for hosting important business, political, musical, and sporting events, and to the nearby multi-purpose congress centre MCK Katowice. The trip was also rich in sightseeing – with visits to the historic mining districts and the Wilson Shaft Gallery. The day ended with an interactive tour around the GUIDO, an old coal mine, and playing urban golf 320 metres below the ground level and dinner in Monopol restaurant in Katowice.
The next intensive day started with a sightseeing tour around the Silver Mine, after which the party set out on a journey into the Middle Ages across the Ogrodzieniec Castle, followed by a mini-tournament, in which they could have a try at bow-shooting. The agenda for the day also included a visit to the Zawiercie Glassworks, where different techniques for producing glassware were demonstrated, and each participant could have a hands-on experience, and was presented with a freebie in the form of an engraved beer glass with the inscription "Polska. Move Your Imagination".
