Silesia to host the 2024 Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala
For the third time already, Katowice will become the centre of events related to the Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme (AKP). Previously, Galas were held in this city in 2015 and 2019. This year’s event will take place in the Walcownia Zinc Rolling Mill – a unique post-industrial space.
About the Programme
The aim of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme is invariably to acquire congresses to Poland and to provide effective support in acquiring such events to our country by professionals working in the structures of international organisations. In 2023, the programme celebrated its 25th anniversary. That year, 22 representatives of various fields of science, economy and those working in NGOs joined the group of Polish Congress Ambassadors. In total, more than 320 people have been granted this prestigious title so far.
The laureates are selected by the Jury, which takes into account a number of factors and criteria when making their selection. These include membership in international associations and organisations as well as the number of international congresses, conferences and seminars organised and planned. An overall evaluation of the application is taken into account.
