Silesia Convention Bureau joins ICCA
In accordance with the Silesia Convention Bureau strategic plans for 2023-2025, the consortium joined the ICCA in July 2023.
We are honored and happy to be part of the global ICCA family. Most convention bureaus are members of industry associations, and the ICCA is the world's leading meeting industry association. Such affiliation increases the prestige and credibility of the image of our organization. Being a member of ICCA, we count on expanding business contacts, acquiring knowledge and international cooperation - says Agnieszka Sikorska, director of the Silesia Convention Bureau.
Silesia Convention Bureau (SCB) is a product consortium that brings together entities working for the development of business tourism in the Silesian Voivodeship. SCB operates within the structures of the Silesian Tourist Organization and is a specialized entity responsible for promoting the entire Silesian Voivodeship as an attractive destination for hosting meetings. The leader of the Silesia Convention Bureau product consortium is the Silesian Tourist Organization (ŚOT). Silesia Convention Bureau carries out its activities on a non-profit basis. The goal of the Silesia Convention Bureau's activities is to enhance the value of the Silesian Voivodeship brand as an attractive destination for organizing business meetings and actively attracting events to the entire region, resulting in an increase in the number of business tourists and revenues from the business tourism sector.
Joining ICCA marks a significant turning point for the Silesia Convention Bureau, emphasizing our dedication to positioning Poland as a top-tier destination for international conferences and congresses. Through ICCA's global network, we envision collaborations that will enhance the overall competitiveness and appeal of the Polish MICE market, attracting a diverse range of events and fostering economic growth in the region - says Aneta Książek, Head of Poland Convention Bureau.
By joining ICCA, Silesia Convention Bureau has achieved the distinction of being the ninth Polish convention bureau to become a member. The other members from Poland encompass bureaus from Gdańsk, Warsaw, Poznań, Kraków, Wrocław, Łódź, Lublin, and Poland Convention Bureau. In sum, there are a total of 18 entities from Poland that hold ICCA membership.
