Prof. dr hab. inż. Marek Pawełczyk announced president of an international scientific society

Since 2016 Chairman of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme (second term from 2020), Prof. dr hab. inż. Marek Pawełczyk received the Honorary Polish Congress Ambassador title in 2010. The project in question is aimed at promoting Poland as a destination of international congresses and conferences and at providing effective support for the process of securing such events by Poles operating in the structures of international organisations. The Polish Congress Ambassadors Programme is run jointly by Polish Tourism Organisation and the non-governmental Polish Conference and Congress Association.

Having joined the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV) back in 1997, Prof. dr hab. inż. Marek Pawełczyk has already acted as its President in 2012-2014. Now he is the first to return for a second term. In addition, he spent eight years serving as its Vice President.  

Operating in more than 50 countries, the Auburn-based IIAV associates scientists, engineers, consultants and producers of specialized equipment and software. The Institute cooperates with approx. 50 domestic and regional societies and scientific organisations from all over the world. In addition, it publishes a JCR-listed journal, provides expert advice and runs a scholarship programme.

IIAV stages annual international scientific congresses that attract 800-1,200 participants from more than 70 countries. Prof. dr hab. inż. Pawełczyk was personally involved in arranging congresses in Kraków, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro, Vilnius, Bangkok, Beijing, Florence, Athens, London, Hiroshima and Montreal. He is now working on forthcoming events in Prague and Singapore.
