Poland Meetings and Events Industry Report 2018 announcing first results
The main objective of the discussed study is to identify the number and size of meetings and events (i.a. social, economic, business) staged in Poland in 2017.
The abovementioned collaboration with all regional convention bureaux made it possible to collect and analyse data covering 21,200 meetings and events staged for groups of at least 50 participants. Conferences and congresses account for more than half of them, corporate and incentive events - for 46.5% and trade fairs and exhibitions - slightly more than 3%. In the subject matter category, the largest number of meetings (close to 6,000) was dedicated to commerce and services, 3,800 - to economy and politics, and almost 3,500 - to medicine. According to the submitted data, more than 95% of events held in Poland in 2017 did not last longer than three days.
Data received by PCB POT from recommended organisers of congresses and incentive travel was processed analogously. 896 events were arranged for groups of at least 50 in 2017, thus providing services for 950,484 participants. The results confirm that the recommended companies mostly focus on organising conferences and congresses (47%) and incentive and corporate events (42%). Trade fairs and exhibitions constituted merely 11% of all events. Commerce and services (28%) dominated among industries, followed by technology (20%) and medicine (17%).
The overall results of the 2017 data submitted by regional CBx and recommended organisers will be available in the Poland Meetings and Events Industry Report 2018 in mid-year (after the publication of the ICCA Statistics Report international city and country ranking).
