The eighth MP Power Night gala was staged on 21 May 2020 as its very first 100% online edition. The event acts as the finale of the MP Power Awards® competition staged by MeetingPlanner.pl.

The live stream available through MeetingPlanner’s website and Facebook fanpage was broadcast from the CMA studio in ICE Kraków, the Brill AV Media studio and the Bank studio in Warsaw. In addition, competition finalists could meet in social rooms prepared specially for this evening. The event was produced and directed by Rebelia Media Group.

The goal of the MP Power Awards® competition is to distinguish top projects and showcase their effects by promoting the professional character of the event industry and building awareness of the value of corresponding tools. The awards are presented in the following six categories:

• MP Power Projekt (event industry projects implemented in January-December 2019),
• MP Power Venue (venue boasting the greatest potential for hosting all types of events),
• MP Power Produkt (products, highlights, services that can be incorporated into an event agenda and considerably boost its attractiveness),
• MP Power 12 (event industry experts and personalities),
• Special Awards (a new category recognizing companies conducting projects and undertaking activities following the strategy of sustainable development),
• Event Industry’s Creatives of the Year (top creative professionals operating in the industry and those wishing to link their career and professional growth with creation experience).

This year marked the first time that representatives of the whole industry could submit candidates in the MP Power 12 poll. Out of all nominees, the candidates with the largest number of submissions were selected in each group. We are most happy to announce that the list of competition winners included Aneta Książek, Head of Poland Convention Bureau (Convention Bureau category) and Prof. Józef Modelski, Polish Congress Ambassador and Member of the Polish Congress Ambassador Programme Council for 2020-2023, President of the Polish National Committee of URSI (International Union of Radio Science) (Meeting Planner - Association category).

This year Polish Tourism Organisation is celebrating its 20th anniversary, while Poland Convention Bureau reached the age of majority, with 18 wonderful years of promoting Poland and cooperation at regional, European and global level. While accolades of this sort naturally make us very happy, staying cool-headed and focusing on continued efforts is recommended if we wish to create equally fond memories of the years to come”, declares Aneta Książek.

The MP Power Projekt category recognized projects implemented by companies recommended by POT PCB: WADA 2019 produced by Mazurkas Congress Management for the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) (congress category), the Poznań Game Arena games and gaming equipment trade show developed by the MTP Group (trade fair category), SS Timberland Brand Meeting 2020 staged by Creative Poland for Timberland (incoming category), as well as Empik’s 2018 Bestsellers Gala arranged by Allegro Brand Experience Agency for Empik (stage design and visuals category).

This year’s gala was also promoting Poland Online Site Inspection, a brand-new tool launched for the meetings industry by POT PCB in cooperation with municipal and regional convention bureaux. The virtual catalogue includes select information describing the potential of Poland’s meetings sector, including conference and congress centres, hotels, restaurants and unique landmarks. In addition, it incorporates the so-called business cards of particular cities, information presented in the form of infographics on top tourist venues and highlights, proposals of incentive agendas and multimedia materials of involved cities, including interactive maps to admire venues from a bird’s eye view. Poland Online Site Inspection is intended to encourage planning and staging meetings and events in Poland. Continued cooperation with local industry partners will make it possible to successively upgrade and expand the tool.
