Meeting of the Poznań Congress Ambassador Club

The December meeting of the Poznań Congress Ambassador Club was staged at the Poznań Congress Centre recording studio on 15 December 2020.  A joint initiative of Polish Tourism Organisation, Polish Conference and Congress Association, the MTP Group and the city of Poznań, the Poznań Congress Ambassador Club was launched in October 2019.

Poznań joins Warsaw, Kraków and Wrocław on the list of cities recognising and supporting representatives of the local academic community, acknowledging their impressive potential contributing to the high international ranking of the city and the country.

The goal of the Poznań Congress Ambassador Club is to create a platform to inspire, support and share knowledge and good practices related to bidding for prestigious events that the capital of the Wielkopolska region could host. In addition, the Club’s operations are aimed at developing and undertaking initiatives focused on promoting Poznań and its performance in the meetings industry.

Speakers of the virtual meeting attempted to answer the question posed by its main theme: “Hybrid conferences – short-term necessity or brand-new quality?”.

The list of delegates of local academic staff and organisations, who shared their insights and experiences, included:

  • Anna Giżycka, initiator and coordinator of the #PrawdziwiLudzie project, Networking Specialist, Regional Centre of Social Policy in Poznań,
  • Anna Górska, Board Advisor, Symposium Cracoviense/Board Member, ICCA,
  • Prof. dr hab. Agnieszka Merkisz-Guranowska, Head of Institute of Transport, Faculty of Civil and Transport Engineering, Poznań University of Technology,
  • Prof. Przemysław Mitkowski, Chairperson-Elect, Polish Cardiac Society/Congress Ambassador (2019)/member of the organisational committee of the 25th International Congress of Polish Cardiac Society.

Guests were welcomed by, i.a. Elżbieta Roeske, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors with MTP Group, and Jan Mazurczak of Poznań Convention Bureau.
