Professional organisations have established the Council of the Meetings and Events Industry to act for the sake of the discussed sector, the first one forced to halt its operations because of the spreading SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The market in question contributes approx. 1.5% of Poland’s national GDP and employs about 1.5 million people. Ever since mid-February it has been recording a decline in sales at an average of approx. 80-95%. In view of this profound crisis, the industry chose to act together, with representatives of organisations from various sectors deciding to establish the Council of the Meetings and Events Industry.
