Christmas-season recommendations of Poland Convention Bureau POT
A traditional activity of Polish Tourism Organisation staged by its Poland Convention Bureau unit, the annual Christmas-season recommendations industry meeting in December presents certificates to top professional congress and incentive travel organisers and convention bureaux.
With a face-to-face meeting out of the question, this year’s Christmas-season recommendations assumed a different shape intended to appreciate the contribution made by recommended organisers and destination marketing organisations in the development of our sector, as well as to recognise good practices and essential customer service standards implemented in face of difficulties and obstacles resulting from the pandemic.
Besides an appreciation note, a regional souvenir and Christmas and New Year wishes on behalf of Rafał Szlachta, President of Polish Tourism Organisation, in early December recommended companies and organisations received a certificate confirming that their POT endorsement has been automatically extended until the end of 2021.

Recommended convention bureaux and businesses specialising in event planning and organisation, boasting appropriate experience, technical facilities and a trained team of employees, familiar with the latest trends making it possible to fully implement a congress or an incentive programme, can rely on active promotion through PCB POT’s actions, such as information in promotional brochures and presentations for foreign organisers, on its website and social media. In addition, the organisers in question are invited to join undertakings arranged by POT, including presentations, international trade shows, fam trips, workshops, training sessions, etc.
The brand-new reality will now call for different methods of organising MICE events. Polish Tourism Organisation, its Poland Convention Bureau unit and the whole industry of inbound business tourism will focus goals and actions on stimulating and boosting demand for business tourism services, reinforcing Poland’s global competitiveness as a meetings destination, securing international events in the years to come, as well as on building promotional strategy for the nearest future.
“The recommendations programme was launched a long time ago to address a specific need of the Polish and global meetings industry. After all, safety and trust are crucial ingredients of our everyday work. This is particularly true today when there is intense competition and the hunt for new clients is more demanding than in the pre-pandemic days. We believe that by automatically extending POT’s recommendations to the end of the next year we provide our industry with genuine support that in due time will contribute to solidifying its position in international bids and will provide priority access to promotional tools offered by PCB PTO”, said Aneta Książek, Head of the Poland Convention Bureau section of PTO.
At present the whole PCB PTO team is working on the 2021 action plan. Intended to upgrade POT’s organisational structure and adapt it to its scope of activities, the changes will involve, i.a. solidifying the position of Poland Convention Bureau and increasing POT’s influence on the process of securing meetings and events.
