In 2022, the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourism Organisation celebrated its 20th anniversary. Over these two decades, we have witnessed a great transformation and professionalization of the Polish meetings industry. Today it is time for more changes, continuing to work with the industry and well-known projects, but also looking for the best ways to influence Poland's competitiveness in the VUCA era. I believe that the Poland Convention Bureau will be up to the new tasks and will further contribute to the development of Poland as a leader in Central Europe for meetings and events, says Marcin Różycki, Vice-President of the Polish Tourism Organisation.

Aneta Książek is strongly identified with the Polish Tourism Organisation and its efforts to promote Poland and develop the meetings industry. Between 2008 and 2018, she held the position of chief conference specialist at the Polish Tourism Organisation. As she emphasises, she makes her professional decisions inspired by the words of Confucius - "Choose a job you love, and you will not overwork a single day more in your life".

In 2015, she gained 10 months' experience working at the PTO's Foreign Centre in Brussels, where she was in charge of promoting both leisure tourism and the meetings industry. Among other things, she was: the originator of a project promoting Poland as a tourist attraction in Belgium, and in particular the Green Velo cycle routes running through eastern Poland. The promotional campaign consisted of Krystian Herba breaking the Guinness world record for the fastest way down the Atomium stairs by bicycle without stopping.

She earned her Destination Pro certification in 2012 (a professional development programme aimed at those working to promote destinations attractive to business visitors), Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) in 2013, Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) in 2015, and she completed Event Management (Stage I) training in August 2016.

For her efforts, she has twice been awarded the MP Power Awards (2013, 2020) and the badge of honour „Za Zasługi dla Turystyki” awarded by the Minister of Sport and Tourism (2016). From 2019 to October 2021 head of the PCB Section of the PTO. Since 7 June 2021 Honorary Member of the SITE Poland Association.

She is eager to share her knowledge - she occasionally lectures and participates in industry meetings. She is the author of a series of #KonkretyAnety articles, in which she analyses reports and trends from the point of view of both Poland and the meetings sector, with particular emphasis on the activities carried out by convention bureaux. As she says, she is inspired by quotes. They are often a prelude to further search and processing of the content she publishes in social media and sometimes in MICE industry magazines.

On behalf of the Poland Convention Bureau PTO, she was a member of the local organising committee of the 61st ICCA Congress in Krakow (6-9.11.2022) and a juror of the international UN Women USA Rise and Raise Others Award 2022, in which awards are given to outstanding women for their commitment and enthusiasm in supporting others to achieve the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

In December 2022, she was selected as a finalist for the Eventex Index 2022 - Top 100 Most Influential People in the Event Industry 2022. The 100 Most Influential People in the Event Industry Index recognises exceptional individuals from around the world who have made a mark on the industry with their creativity, vision and ability to innovate.

She graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics, specialising in Tourism Economics (2004), and the European Academy of Diplomacy (2014). Privately, she enjoys travelling, cinema, retro music and meetings with friends.
