Swedish journalists discovered the charms of Warmia and Mazury
The Polish Tourism Organisation, in cooperation with the Warmińsko-Mazurska Regional Tourism Organisation, organised a press trip for Swedish journalists publishing for Kyrkans Tidning and Katolskt Magasin. The guests participated, among other things, in the celebrations of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Święta Lipka.
In the third week of August, journalists from the Swedish magazines, Kyrkans Tidning and Katolskt Magasin, visited the regions of Warmia and Mazury. The visit was organised by the Polish Tourism Organisation, with a professional travel program prepared by the Warmińsko-Mazurska Regional Tourism Organisation. Cooperation with local Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK) offices and the hotel industry, including the Ryn Castle, was also invaluable.
During the visit, the journalists participated in the celebrations of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, known in Poland as the Feast of Our Lady of Herbs, in Święta Lipka, learning about its origin and essence in Polish culture. The visitors from Sweden also had an opportunity to find out more about herbs and vegetation.
During the course of the study visit, there was also time dedicated to the traditional attractions of the region, and so the participants visited, among other places, Gietrzwałd, Olsztyn and Olsztynek, and went kayaking on the Krutynia River. The visit to Poland is going to result in two stories in Kyrkans Tidning and Katolskt Magasin.
