On Saturday 16 January Ferien Messe Wien (Reed Exhibition) partnered up with the Reisen team of the Austrian Kurier to stage a so-called Reisetag virtual meeting of tourism industry representatives and independent travellers.

Held on 10 AM - 4.30 PM, the event was divided into several thematic blocks, included one dedicated to the Czech Republic as its partner country. In addition to interviews with and video presentations of Austrian tourism specialists, the event also featured performances by an Austrian folk music duo, whose setlist included songs referring to tourism.

Participants were particularly drawn by quizzes testing their tourism knowledge, staged during the meeting and offering a chance to win some truly attractive prizes, whose total value exceeded 20,000 Euro. Reisetag’s live broadcast was watched by an audience of close to 1,000.

The event also involved Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT), with video presentations featuring the “Poland. Everything you want” promotional spot encouraging viewers to visit our country. Besides the Czech Republic and Poland, the list of attending destinations included Malta.

Reisetag acted as a warm-up for the 2021 edition of Ferien Messe Wien, rescheduled to the first weekend of May 2021 and most probably adopting a virtual-only character.
