POT played an active part in Spanish Choca los Cinco roadshow
Polish Tourism Organisation took part in the Choca los Cinco series of roadshow workshops. Already well-known among the Spanish industry, the meetings acted as an opportunity to promote Poland’s inbound tourism, with particular emphasis on the historical cities of Kraków, Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań and Gdańsk, which this year was recognised with the Princess of Asturias 2019 award.
The Choca los Cinco initiative consists of industry-focused workshops staged in a two-year cycle in five Spanish cities and spotlighting five European destinations: Poland, Czech Republic, Norway, United Kingdom and Israel.
This year’s roadshow wrapped up on 27 September and visited Madrid and Barcelona, once again acknowledged as the best-performing domestic markets from the viewpoint of incoming tourism, along with Valladolid, Valencia and Bilbao. The latter three cities, which hosted the workshops of participating destinations, were selected due to their transport options and market potential from the angle of a tradition of travelling abroad and economic growth figures. With the list of participating cities changing from edition to edition, tourism industry representatives of particular countries are able take their offer to smaller cities that are nonetheless thriving and interesting from a business perspective.
Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT) applied the workshop series to promote Poland’s inbound tourism, with particular emphasis on the historical cities of Kraków, Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań and Gdańsk, which this year was recognised with the Princess of Asturias 2019 award. Poland was presented as one of the largest countries of Central-Eastern Europe plus one of its greenest destinations, where cultural tourism goes hand in hand with nature tourism.
Besides POT, the workshops also involved Polish Airlines LOT and the following tour operators: Come2Poland, See Kraków, Mazovian Travel, Poland Tour, Mazurkas Travel and GM Travel.
