POT as a partner of the Golf Cup of the Polish Ambassador to Luxembourg

The Golf Club Grand Ducal became the venue for a special event on 16 October: the tournament of the Polish Ambassador’s Cup in Luxembourg. The occasion for the event was the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The tournament was organised by the Polish Embassy, with the Polish Tourism Organisation and LOT Polish Airlines partnering.

The golf tournament was an ideal opportunity to promote Poland’s tourist assets, its historical heritage, culture and gastronomy in the prestigious circles of members of the club, representatives of Luxembourg companies, real estate companies and agencies, doctors, scientists and lawyers.

Held at an 18-hole course with a picturesque setting among old trees, the tournament was supported by a range of promotional activities. Players were greeted by a photo exhibition entitled “Beautiful Poland”, set up in front of the club. Between the 9th and 10th holes, there was a colourful promotional stand where golfers could stop for a while, relax and enjoy Polish delicacies. On the course, special lightweight banners were suspended from trees and bushes to show Polish nature, perfectly matching the green areas of the golf club. Each participant received a package of promotional materials and gadgets. A commemorative golf ball with the jubilee logotype will certainly be a special memento of the event.

The finalists were awarded unique statues by the Polish sculptor from Luxembourg, Katarzyna Kot-Bach, as well as trips to Poland. Warsaw had been chosen as the destination, as it is the only city with direct flights to Luxembourg for the time being. The winners in four categories will stay in different hotels, which means several places in the capital being promoted. The awards for the second and third places included unique Polish products – ceramic dishes from Bolesławiec, salt from Wieliczka, glass from Krosno and quality Polish vodka.

The awards were presented at a gala dinner opened by Piotr Wojtczak, the Ambassador of Poland to Luxembourg. The guests enjoyed a selection of Polish specialities, as well as the excellent Antonius Caviar, a Polish brand which is among the world’s leading producers of this delicacy.

The celebration of the 100-year anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Luxembourg will be a concert by the folk band Mazowsze, under the patronage of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the President of Poland, organised by the Polish Embassy on 11 November, with the support of POT.
