Polish tourist offer at Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show
On 16-17 February Polish Tourism Organisation took part in Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show, the largest travel show in the West Coast and one of the largest events in the US.
Each year Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show is attended by approx. 350 exhibitors and up to 50,000 visitors, including about 4,000 tourism industry representatives (travel agents, consumer and trade press delegates).
As part of the joint national stand of Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT), the inbound offer of Poland was presented by LOT Polish Airlines and the SOS Travel bureau. The former announced a direct flight from Miami, which is expected to launch in June 2019. Introduced earlier, the connection with Los Angeles proved to be a great success. The increased number of direct flights from four in 2017 to six in 2018 confirms that United States boasts a significant potential in the field of trips to Poland. California is among the three states distinguished by the largest interest shown in the country.
Consequently, the Polish stand was hugely popular. Among the diverse tourist highlights of Poland, cultural heritage turned out to attract the greatest attention, with particular emphasis on castles, palaces and historical monuments included on the UNESCO list, as well as city breaks. While Kraków and Warsaw were most recognizable, Gdańsk, Łódź, Wrocław and Poznań were also discussed. Other popular tourism options included the food, active and sentimental variety (the latter focused on a search for roots). Numerous visitors to the stand were declaring that they would like to visit Poland in the nearest future. Many already had concrete dates and plans for their stay in the country.
