In the unofficial capital of the European Union the anniversary of Poland’s accession to the EU has special significance. This is why the momentous celebrations received a corresponding setting and a main protagonist in the form of the State Folk Group of Song and Dance “Mazowsze”, a world-renowned symbol of Polish cultural heritage. Organised by Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union, the concert was staged in one of the most important buildings seating EU institutions, office of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union. The event gathered close to 1,000 participants and was honoured by the presence of top-ranking representatives of EU institutions, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, as well as particular governments’ Permanent Representatives to the European Union.

After the concert in the office of the European Council, ceremonious celebrations were continued in the Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union. Gathered guests received special thanks for cultivating and promoting Polish cultural heritage from Mateusz Morawiecki, Prime Minister of Poland.

The presence of the Mazowsze ensemble in Brussels was commemorated by a photograph taken by the renowned Schuman Square in the very heart of the European quarter.

Organisation of celebrations of the fifteenth anniversary of the Republic of Poland’s accession to the European Union was made possible thanks to the support of partner institutions and patronage of the National Support Centre for Agriculture, PLL LOT, PKN Orlen, PKO BP, Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna – POT) and the Polish Institute in Brussels.
