Poland’s extensive promotion in Florida
Last week Polish Tourism Organisation actively participated in numerous Florida-based events promoting Poland.
Already this year will see the launch of Polish Airlines LOT’s direct connection between Miami and Warsaw. The first scheduled flight will take place on 1 June. On this occasion travel agents from Florida took part in a presentation prepared by LOT and Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna - POT), allowing them to learn more about Poland, its tourist highlights and convenient connections with other European destinations.
Early February is also when Florida was simultaneously reached by two Polish units on an around-the-world cruise celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence. After being involved in the World Youth Day in Panama and stopping by Cartagena, the Dar Młodzieży sail training ship anchored in Fort Lauderdale. Meanwhile, the I Love Poland yacht launched and financed by Polish National Foundation moored in Miami. A Polish zone set up by Polish National Foundation in the Miami marina offered a chance to sample Polish cuisine and find out why our country is worth visiting.
Miami also hosted the 60 Million Congress on 7-10 February, one of the world’s largest events of Polish diaspora. In the course of a panel discussion dedicated to tourism, Magdalena Żelazowska, Head of the Polish Tourism Organisation International Office in New York, and Adrian Kubicki of PLL LOT brought up growth perspectives of tourist traffic between Poland and the US, made possible thanks to the launch of the new flight and promotion of leisure holidays in the homeland among members of the Polish community.
