Dutch journalists enthusiastic about Southern Poland
The latest articles about Poland are now available at Reishonger, the well-known Dutch travel portal. This time the publications spotlight highlights of two regions in Southern Poland: Małopolska and Dolny Śląsk (Lower Silesia) along with their main cities of Kraków and Wrocław.
The articles are inspired by a trip Polish Tourism Organisation (Polska Organizacja Turystyczna) staged for the portal’s team in late 2020. The list of the project’s partners included Municipality of Kraków, Małopolska Tourist Organisation, Lower Silesian Tourist Organisation, and Municipality of Wrocław. Wishing to provide their readers with the most authentic coverage possible, journalists travelled by a car they hired on their own. As a result, the articles not only introduce particular must-sees of the covered regions and cities, but also include a wide range of practical hints for everyone wishing to embark upon a similar journey.
Due to the portal’s specific target audience, the trip and the resulting article are centred on active tourism, with particular emphasis on cycling and hiking. During their ten-day stay, the journalists explored Kraków and its region, enjoyed two hiking trips in the Tatra Mountains, tested single tracks in the Kłodzka Basin and discovered the mysterious Stołowe Mountains. The trip culminated in sightseeing Wrocław. The highly diverse itinerary was described in detail in five articles available on the portal.
Importantly, their publication date was highly favourable, as Southern Poland regions have been attracting a lot of attention in the Netherlands for some time now. In addition, active and leisure tourism in the mountains and the use of private modes of transport will certainly gain in popularity in the post-pandemic landscape.
